Ruggedising power supplies
YEG Powerline capabilities include producing ruggedised power supplies. In many instances we can offer a ruggedised solution derived from standard power supply.
Our ruggedisation service meets a range of needs, e.g. protection from moisture, dust, chemicals, mechanical stress and vibration.
We use a number of techniques to do this and some are as listed below:

| Open PCB components can be subject to vibration and shock hazzards | Components at risk can be stablised by injecting a compound at key points around the components. | ||
Conformal coating; acts as protection against moisture, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.
Conformal coating or heavier glue can protect the PSU circuit from mechanical stress and vibration. Further ruggedisation against impact can be achieved by enclosing the power supply.
Higher levels of IP protection, i.e. water proofing can be achieved by full encapsulation using potting compound and / or using an IP6x rated enclosure. External connectors can be replaced with (e.g.) IP68 type for wet or immersion conditions.
We may also upgrade external cable to cope with crush damage or corrosion (e.g. battery fumes)
